2010 Summer Flute Workshops and Camps
This is by no means a complete list, but includes programs in the area and some further away that I strongly recommend. Application deadlines are quickly approaching for many of these!

These programs offer great opportunities for growth and inspiration for students of ALL LEVELS!

Students intending to major in music at the college level should attend
at least one summer workshop each summer during high school.

Illinois

12^th Annual Summer Flute Retreat
June 27-July 3 (schedule varies daily), all ages and levels
Location: Illinois Valley Community College, Oglesby, IL (near LaSalle and Starved Rock State Park). Housing is available with host families. University of Wisconsin – Whitewater High School Flute Camp
July 11-16, residential program, grades 8-12 (Fall 2010)
Location: Whitewater, Wisconsin (30 minutes north of Lake Geneva). Students stay in a UW-Whitewater residence hall. Midwest Young Artists Flute Workshop
July 5-9  (daily, 1:30-6:30pm), ages 12-18
Location: MYA Center in Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Faculty: Hideko Amano, Ellen Huntington, Shanna Gutierrez, Jonathan Keeble. Tuition: $400. www.mya.org 

Illinois Summer Youth Music
Advanced Flute: June 27-July 3, grades 9-12 (Fall 2010)
Senior Band: June 20-26, grades 9-12 (Fall 2010)
Junior Band: June 27-July3 or July 11-17, grades 7-9 (Fall 2010)

Sherwood Conservatory of Music Summer Flute Institute
"Focus on Auditions" July 19-23, ages 10-adult

"Focus on Ensemble Playing" July 26-31, ages 8-adult
